Help fight hunger in our communities!
We encourage spectators to bring non-perishable food items to the parade and watch for volunteers from Toronto Paramedic Association and Toronto Paramedic Services who will be collecting donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank along the parade route.
Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. Every year thousands of people across Toronto rely on food banks. A distribution hub, Daily Bread provides food and support to almost 200 food programs across Toronto and is the largest provider of food relief in the GTA.
Last year’s Food Drive totals were 1,925 lbs of food and $3,300 in cash. This was the combined total of the Toronto Paramedic Services internal “100 Pound Station Challenge”, online cash donations, and what was brought in on Parade Day by parade goers and community groups marching in the procession.
This year the Paramedics have set a goal to collect 5,000 lbs of food for the Daily Bread Food Bank. This can only be achieved with your help, so don’t forget to bring your non-perishable food items on Sunday, March 19.
